Maïté Adams grew up “down the bayou” in Golden Meadow, Louisiana with her Cajun father and Belgian mother. Her love for medicine began as a teenager while helping to care for her grandfather.
She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2013. Following graduation, she moved to Houston and worked at Bayshore Medical Center and Texas Children’s Hospital. Upon moving back home to Louisiana, she worked at Ochsner Medical Center and St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She graduated summa cum laude with her master’s degree in nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2018. She has enjoyed providing comprehensive and individualized care to her patients on the Northshore since that time.
She is a member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She places an emphasis on listening to her patients and guiding them on their healthcare journey in a manner that best suits their lifestyle and goals. She lives in Madisonville with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
